My 2003 Xterra Cruise Set Light Blinks When I Drive And My Brake Flashing set light i have the exact same problem with my 2005 xterra. am on a long 2500 mile trip and 250 miles into the trip, after a pit stop, the set light is flashing and the cruis:dork:e is doa. other posts show check fuses . . . did that no joy. just learned it might be the brake lamp switch, or the 3 switch package in the steering wheel. 222 posts · joined 2013. #2 · may 9, 2016. mine has been doing that for about a week now. ever since i sunk the x in a mudhole its been blinking intermittently. my guess would be that it has something to do with moisture getting into a sensor but i haven't really investigated the problem any further. the only bad thing about it is you won't.

I ran into something weird the other day while on a road trip. i had my cruise control set at 70mph and it disengaged all of a sudden. i thought maybe i hit the button by mistake so i reengaged it. a short while after it disengaged again and this time the set light was blinking and i couldn't reengage it.
