2g 2g Auto Shifter Base Shifter Cable Dsmtuners A source of shifter play is the select lever shoe (md712919) which rides in the ring of the control shaft (the shift levers on the outside of the tranny where the shifter cables attach to). it wears down causing excessive shifter play (side to side play of shift lever). By allowing it to pivot, you can now adjust the side to side play. bolt the bracket down loosely and check the side to side play. if one side is longer, rotate the bracket clockwise or counter clockwise till the side to side play is even. then bolt down the bracket securely so that it doesn't budge. hope this helps.

E46 Shifter Side To Side Play Youtube The bitch wobbles like a fish on land and i already replaced the bushings with this energy suspension shifter bushings civic integra dohc:ebay motors (item 120493750827 end time dec 15 09 14:24:52 pst) it got a little better but still moves alot.ive looked for something along the lines of a rebuild kit, but no go. If that's the case, you may want to check out your trunion bushings. if you go in there under the console and take a look at the naked shifter, there is a metal u that your shift lever sits inside. the other end of the u goes off into oblivion into the transmission. there are 2 bushings between the u and the shift lever. you may be missing these. 3 posts · joined 2017. #1 · apr 18, 2017. hello, i was wondering if there is a way to fix a shifter that has a lot of play. what i'm saying by having a lot of play is that when i shift to first i can move it to second and back and forth but with all the gears and it's super hard to get into reverse. if anyone can help that would be great. 1) the plastic bushing at the base of the shifter, could be broken. 1b) the fastners holding the shifter assembly down could be loose. 2) linkages going back to the tranny could be loose. 3) shifter fork issues. ($$$)? i should point out that it is mushy whether it's in gear or not.

Cut up a fizzy drink aluminum can and rolled it around the bushing twice and then shoved the shifter back on. the play was virtually gone, and it felt better shifting gears. no more sliding left and right. my shadow has the slightest play, my magna has none, and my yamahaxj600 has no play either. i'd advise to try a fix up or replace the bushing. The shift action is still a bit vague, especially going from 2 3 and i don't enjoy the side to side play when it's in gear. probably should have started this thread and took some more time making the right decision before dumping money into the oem ssk, but oh well.
